The state of the student from school to university is affected by many
factors which are uncontrollable yet, like the quality of the academic
backgrounds, the ease and complications of subjects, the chances
for secured future, etc. The link between the school and the university
has to be established on the basis of such factors. Here we tried
to figure out the effect of these factors on the student choices
of their university physics study and as well as on their performance,
depending on a questionairre of students in the first and intermediate
years in the School of Applied Physics at the University of Neelain
in Sudan. Data analysis showed some gaps between school and University
which need to be filled.
