Changes in society in the transition to post-modern and knowledge based results in new requirements for physics teachers. They should compete with plenty temptations in attracting pupils/students attention to physics. Does the modelling in physics teaching as a (general or specific) problem solving strategy or a creative way of developing and communicating representations of the knowledge have any chance to enrich the personal and professional prospective physics teacher's toolkit? Practical examples from pre-service teacher training will be discussed in the contribution.
