GIREP Seminar
2003

Teacher training in subject matter didactics has undergone various and hesitating reorganization over the past ten years. This refers to both the total number of hours and the way hours have been distributed between course and seminar. Thus, in initial training the number of hours allocated to course has dropped to half of the initial total number and the ratio course / seminar has been reversed almost every year. In 2001, in the Romanian official documents the name “methodology” turned into “didactics”. Unfortunately, this change didn’t occur where curriculum was concerned. It remained a kind of pedagogy applied to the subject matter. The same situation can be found with regard to the topics required in different examinations for acquiring superior levels if teaching. In this study we analyse the schedule of Physics Didactics courses within the initial and continuous teacher training in Romania. We also offer alternatives supporting the attempt to draw up a unitary schedule of Physics didactics courses.
